LO5.1 Be Able to Edit Cinematic Quality Footage
Throughout the first couple of scenes the lighting is very bright and eye catching and the blacks are a lot more visible compared to the other scenes when we see the monster. This did not feel right because it did not capture the horror vibe so to do this I color graded some of the more brighter scenes. I used the same settings when color grading the scenes which were decreasing the highlights and the darker tones so that the blacks are a lot darker and less visible which meant that the lighter color's popped more on screen. I also toned down the exposure slightly to make sure the brighter color's arrest too bright and don't wash out the colours. Some of the scenes after editing them were still quite choppy and did not feel right for example there would be noticeable gaps between people talking and sometimes you could hear people talking in the back or the camera man saying " 3, 2, 1, go" .
